Time for an update for sure! We come here often because its across the street from my sons Taekwondo and he likes the food and we like the drinks. They are known for there ducky death star drink which is like a mini punch bowl of slurpee flavor goodness. They also have Corona on tap. Chips and salsa is tasty. Ask for the really hot salsa if you like it hot! I always get the spicy chicken nachos as my meal. My son likes the quesidillas and my mom, the rellano ala carte. Beans and rice are so so but opt for the salad if you can. Servers pretty much know us so its pretty good. When its busy, it can get really slow. So we come on off hours like 5ish. Thursdays the ducks go on sale so this place gets insane. Parking is shared with the Bar named Sue so its always busy. Food is good, drinks are fabulous!

The decor borders on authentic and cheesy, but it's fun. It was a bit loud, but to be fair, there was a large birthday party nearby.
The enchiladas were good, and served with the typical rice and beans. The chili relleno was inedible The margaritas were huge, but tasted terrible. Honestly, it's the cheap tasting mix.
The menu is too big, and that usually means that most items are not freshly made, likely frozen. It tasted like it, too. It is a typical low-budget Mexican restaurant - been there, done that, probably will never return. Fortunately, there are much better places in Holladay. -

Driven by this place what seems like a few million times and always keep meaning to one day stop but never seem to remember...finally got to it and was immediately confused by the vibe. They're sort of going for a cobana/cantina vibe, but which comes across more heavily as bar (lots and lots of crazy drinks) and sort of going for restaurant and missing everything entirely. Food was...they seem to want it to be authentic, I'm guessing, but frozen breaded shrimp on the menu seems a lot more north of the border than south.
I had a chile relleno, which was smothered in a sauce that did not ever go past ok. Very heavy reliance on arbol flavoring, which was a shame as the relleno itself was pretty solid. I had a chicken chimichanga, modified to steer clear of onions, which took a crazy amount of doing. They very nicely made it with grilled chicken, fresh, and I have no major complaints. It was spiced nicely, if a bit dry and with the right sauce, would have been quite good. As it was, the visit was very solid and there's nothing wrong with this place, but it was not resonant with me. Still I would also say it's worth checking out, if you haven't. -

We ordered for delivery from Uber eats. We have never eaten here before and to be honest we probably won't ever again. The price point for flavor was very disappointing. They give you a TON of meat, but there are no other flavors. The steak on the steak taco appears to be the same steak in the carne asada, the price point is $4 different. If you are ordering on delivery, know there is a lot of meat, but not really any other additions. Buy a steak taco, split it between 3 people (that's how much meat comes on the steak taco). The highlight of all meals was the zucchini and cheese side. If you are looking for a "meat fest" this is your place. If you are looking for flavorful Mexican food, this is NOT the place for you.
What we ordered: Carne Asada Burrito = two thumbs down for price and flavor.
Chihuahua Taco = A LOT of meat, same meat as carne asad at a lower price point. Flavors are mediocre. Beans and rice portions were smaller than expected for the price point.
Two Burrito Combo = Again, a LOT of meat with minimal other flavors.
Flautas = Flavor is average, rice and beans were small portion. Overall, price point is high compared to what you get.
Overall I think people go here for the drinks, not the food. If you are looking for good Mexican food, I would go else where. -

So the food here is overpriced and it's okay, but I come here to get the DUCKIE DEATH STAR before going out to the bars next door. It's great for a group of people hanging out, and having fun. I have over 20 different ducks from all of the du kiel death stars that I have had. If you need a fishbowl drink buzz, this place is for you!
